Job Description
Tasks SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for the development of work estimates for signals, the planning process, budget management, laying out of job tasks, drawings/sketches, material lists/costs, time estimates, labor clearances, and maintenance of labor costs. Maintains knowledge of signal maintenance projects, contracts, policies and actions related to workforce deployment. Observes safe work performance standards and operations in completion of daily tasks and provides prompt reports in cases of accident, injury and illness. Exercises leadership and judgment in daily interactions with the workforce including counseling, motivating, organizing and directing. Conducts safety briefings, observes safety compliance, maintains qualifications AMT 23/27, RWP, NORAC and coordinates with other departments. Leads employees within the guidelines of the System Safety Program by being alert to physical hazards which affect operations, including the modification of, recognition of, or cessation of operations when conditions exist that conflict with a safe operating environment for Amtrak or others. EDUCATION: Requirements Must have High School Diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Advanced Technical School Electrical with Journeyman qualification. WORK EXPERIENCE: C&S Field experience AMT 23/27, RWP/NORAC, AMT 2, and BRS Labor Agreement. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: C&S field experience. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. TRAVEL: Yes 20%
