Job Description

Role and responsibilities:

To undertake failure investigation of rolling stock and vehicle mounted plant equipment and where necessary develop, propose and implement modifications to either.

Key Accountabilities:

• To manage projects.

• To develop and implement modifications to the vehicle fleet.

• To actively liaise with Operational and Maintenance Managers and their staff with the development of engineering modifications

• To produce and update maintenance and operating process instructions as well as drawings

• To maintain the Transplant section on the Tube lines Intranet

• Produce technical reports

• Work within the relevant Tube Lines and LU Standards.

• Liaise with equipment suppliers

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to investigate faults and identify solutions on rolling stock (including vehicle mounted plant).

• Have a thorough knowledge of the plant and equipment used in infrastructure maintenance and renewal of railways.

• Have sound written, oral and telephone communication skills in order to communicate effectively at all levels.

• An understanding of procedures, documentation, LU and customer standards.

• An understanding of Legislation appropriate to the work area, safety and quality.

• Ability to prioritise work.

• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical machine systems.

• Demonstrate understanding of location and use of information sources for maintenance and repairs eg drawings, manuals, work instructions and procedures.

• Sound knowledge of IT systems

• Be prepared to do night site visits to see vehicles being operated

• Hold appropriate license to drive company car
