Description: POSITION: Foreman III (1) (EFF 01/13/10) DEPARTMENT: Mechanical LOCATION: Miami, FL RATE OF PAY: 29.74 per Hour POSITION NO: 90062982 INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES THE SAFETY OF OUR PASSENGERS, OUR EMPLOYEES, THE PUBLIC, AND OUR OPERATING ENVIRONMENT IS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY AMTRAK EMPLOYEES MUST SUBMIT A JOB OPPORTUNITY APPLICATION NRPC FORM 1764 TO BE CONSIDERED. DUTIES: Supervise the day to day operation at the Equipment Maintenance facility with multiple shifts and employees from all crafts. Supervise mechanical and defect repair of rail equipment and dispatchment of trains. Responsible for employee line-ups, coordinating work assignments with Foreman II and answering directly to the General Foreman. Must be familiar with all working Agreements, FRA, FDA, AAR, EPA and Amtraks guidelines with regard to passenger and locomotive equipment. EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent work experience EDUCATION: Preferred AA in Mechanical or Electrical Technology. WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have some railroad experience and must have some mechanical experience. WORK EXPERIENCE: Prefer Demonstrated years of supervisory experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Willing to work nights and/or weekends, including holiday, if necessary. Applicant must be able to perform the job duties and maintain current certifications. Work within the guidelines of the System Safety Program. Keep a clean and safe work area. Return company tools and materials. Work in and promote a teamwork environment in order to achieve a quality product. Adhere to Amtraks Standard of Excellence Policy. COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have good oral and written skills and excellent interpersonal skills required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Varies. TRAVEL: NO
