Tasks

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Primarily responsible for overall project management and department oversight of planning initiatives, including liaison with all corporate and operational departments. Responsible for developing corporate strategy and policies for investments, upgrades, and legally mandated compliance at new and renovated stations. • Facilitate and support decision-making among internal stakeholders in support of station planning functions. • Maintain Amtrak station standards and communicate this information to third-parties developing stations. • Serve as a liaison for state and local government officials, municipal planning organizations, host railroads and other external stakeholders for station planning issues. • Develop and evaluate RFQs and RFPs for advancing station planning, compliance and funding opportunities. • Provide input to Amtraks legislative strategy for identifying and securing innovative funding sources, and contribute to the Amtrak strategic plans regarding stations, outlining strategic objectives, design guidelines, performance standards, funding needs, business requirements, and policy guidelines. • Maintain up-to-date inventory of stations and all station projects planned or underway. • Work with Utilities Management to develop an Amtrak corporate wide energy plan on a site specific basis.

EDUCATION: Must have a Bachelors degree in planning, policy and business administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
Requirements
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Prefer Masters degree in planning, policy, business administration or other related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have significant management experience in developing investments plans and strategies to measure, evaluate and improve performance. Demonstrated related work experience. Proficiency in MS Office, including advanced level capabilities in the use of MS Excel, Power Point and Word. Demonstrated ability to work with government agencies, engineering disciplines both public and private sector and with private sector partners and/or developers. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines. Must present a professional demeanor and effectively interact with stakeholders, employees and all levels of management. Previous project management experience. Experience in public speaking.
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Extensive related work experience preferred.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
