Bombardier Transportation offers a full range of rail vehicles for urban and mainline operation as well as modernization of rolling stock and operations and maintenance services. For our Headquarters in Berlin, we are currently looking to recruit a: Senior Specialist IS, Servers and Storage Operations (m/f) The role encomprises the following key accountabilities: Driving continuous improvement projects as it relates to Server and Storage technology areas, which increases reliability and performance of the BT IS infrastructure environments Approval of server and storage components in all IS projects under execution. In this context: Review and approval of project gate documentation defining scope / budget and aligning with technology plan Review standard configurations of hardware and software and alignment strategy Review and approve related service requests and change controls which impact server and storage towers and budget and ensure adherence to strategy Drive continuous improvement in governance reporting (SLA/SLO adherence) Manage budget cost allocations, forecast and maintain relationship with key partners Monthly operational review and governance of service delivery. Additionally, alongside BRMs, own and drive CASRA audit management action plans Contribute to the BTIS architecture and technology plan Qualifications For this role, the successful candidate should offer the following: Fundamental understanding of IT processes and operational procedures. Technical infrastructure skills and subject matter knowledge across multiple discipline (Wintel, Unix/HPUX/AIX / Solaris) and hardware interconnectivity with network (LAN / WAN) and storage technologies. Knowledge of storage strategy a distinct advantage Knowledge of database consolidation and virtualization a distinct advantage A relevant educational background, Bsc / BEng Computer Science 10+ years experience in a relevant IT field Ability to adapt to an international dynamic working environment Business-fluent English (written and spoken) is absolutely necessary Open to frequent international travel according to business requirements
