Job Description

Role and responsibilities:

To deliver the planned inspection and maintenance to program and compliant with Maintenance standards e.g. 1-158 Track-Inspections & Maintenance standard, 1-159 Track-Dimensions & Tolerances.
To escalate all non-compliances in an efficient and timely manner ensuring the railway is safe to provide an operational service.
Responsible for people, plant and materials that are assigned to tasks the post holder is responsible for. Ensuring the assigned works is completed in a timely manner and to relevant LU and TLL standards, processes and procedures.
The post holder will have no budgetary responsibilities for the Maintenance Plan to but could supervise a workforce of circa 2 direct and 3 subcontract employees.
The interfaces with the post holder are the Production Supervisors, Inspections Supervisors, Technical Support staff and Health, Safety & Quality Advisors and the post holder is expected to maintain positive relationships with all parties.
The key external interfaces will be with the client (London Underground) and Suppliers the post holder is expected to develop and maintain positive relationships with these parties.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensuring staff assigned are correctly certified to undertake planned works
Liaise with the Track Charge Hands & Supervisors providing accurate and detailed information in a timely manner
Using plant and equipment correctly and escalating defective or broken items.
Ensure completed works are compliant to Tube Lines and LU Engineering Standards, Process & Procedures and ensuring procedures and processes.
Understanding of Track and Civils Core Safety, HR, Environmental, Technical and Management briefings.
Responsible for the escalation of non-compliant defects in a timely and efficient manner.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential

Proven ability in site supervision in a Railway environment.
Protection Master EH/TH to protect themselves/work group
Understanding of Computerised Asset Management systems
Inspected Asset (T001) Safety Critical Licenses and able to correctly classify defects found.
Competent in implementing and removing Temporary Speed Restrictions
Certified to Emergency First Aid level

Desirable

NVQ Level 2 Safety certified
Temporary Approved Non Compliance [TAP] certified
Certified to full First Aid level with recognised training supplier
The post holder is expected to hold and maintain the relevant certification to undertake the role.
